Orleans Christian Counselling was born from identifying the need for more Christian-focused quality therapy care that is locally orientated towards supporting the people of Orleans but also extending our support through online video-chat services across Ontario and Canada.
For the Christian seeking more personalized, in-depth, and quality care that includes pastoral spiritual care, evidence-based knowledge from social science, practical advice and implementation support, while also remaining true to Biblical values and teachings; Orleans Christian Counselling may be an answer.
Many pastors often do not have the time to provide ongoing, frequent, individualized support to their congregants due to their other work demands and corporate duties. Meanwhile, secular psychotherapies are often found to be void of the richness of the Christian faith-life, values, worldview, and Biblical wisdoms that many Christians are seeking when they meet with a therapist. Orleans Christian Counselling seeks to meet that demand: a practice where faith and clinical care meet.
ABOUT JOHN-PAUL AUSTRING, MA, RSW, RP
I support individuals, couples, youth, adults, the elderly, and people of diverse demographic identities who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, relationship conflict, crisis of meaning, and those seeking to reach their full potential in life.
I provide Christian therapy that is biblically-based, holistic, strength-based, compassionate, and also informed by social-science. I utilize Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy, all within a Biblically-based Christian context of understanding.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), a Registered Social Worker (OCSWSSW) in multiple Provinces, a member of the Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC), and a member of the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors (PACCP). I draw from my education in clinical psychology, social work, and theology. I have over 12 years of professional experience helping people through the toughest of times, as well, my own lived experiences with overcoming serious life challenges.
